Art
The goal of the Art Department at FPCA is for every student to enjoy expressing their ideas and to feel positive about their accomplishments. Art has so many different areas and ways of being expressed. A variety of projects and artistic experiments are planned for each grade level. By providing a wide variety of skill lessons and techniques, students learn about the wonderful world of creating something themselves.
This year each grade will be exposing at least 2 famous artists. We will complete a project using that artist's methods.
Art has always been important to me. My first degree was in Art/Design from Purdue University. For several years I worked as an Interior Designer, Art Consultant, and Advertising Director. After my children left home, I went back to school and earned my Teaching Certification. I have taught everything from 2nd grade to 8th grade. Social Studies was always one of my favorites. I have been teaching for 16 years.
I have been teaching art here for 2 1/2 years. What a great experience it is to see students discover their own creative abilities. I look forward to a great year.
